Backpack

Once, in summer, my friends and I decided to do some hiking. I bought myself a Camelbak hike pack. I already had used its water bottles, and they worked really well for me. And the backpack was as if fully designed for this adventurous purpose.

It had enough storage for all my essentials. It didn’t put so much burden on my shoulders. Additionally, it was effective to have body-hugging straps, hip-belt pockets, durable zippers, and completely waterproof construction.

How to Clean Camelback Backpack?

I concentrated on all the properties, and it didn’t occur to me to learn how to clean Camelbak until I slipped on the slope and fell into the sludge. Thanks to the good securing properties of Camelbak that prevented all my essentials from getting mud.

But my pack was filled with all the filth and needed immediate cleansing. Once I reached home and was about to throw it in the washing machine that my friend called me.

I told him about my present endeavor, and he suggested to me to first learn it through a tutorial on the website of Camelbak. And this is from where I inferred to NEVER use the washing machine for cleaning backpacks.

It can twist or tear the straps and fixtures. It can wear away the fabric’s waterproof coating. And once I withstand the risk of washing it through the machine, I’ll nullify the ‘Get your Bak’ warranty.

So, here is the correct way I learned from the tutorial on how to clean Camelbak backpacks

If a backpack gets dusty, clean it off with a damp cloth, and if it needs a deeper cleaning like in my case (filled with filth), consider the following steps:

  • Mix some soap in warm or cool water and wash the backpack in it for a few minutes.
  • Then rinse it with cool water (don’t skip this step, or you’ll end up facing suds the next time)

Well, Finally, you got your backpack prepared for your next hiking expedition.

Podium Water Bottles

Podium Water Bottles

I am fond of cycling, but in summers, when the sun scorches over your head and makes your body countenance dehydration, it sucks. I used water bottles of almost all the brands to keep myself hydrated.

But many of them were not made of good quality and make you taste gross plastic in the water. A handful of them had a leaky bottle valve, and some had hard-to-open mouthpieces. After enduring so many bottles, I finally got a hand on the Camelbak podium bottles.

Not to exaggerate, but It is like all problems in one solution package. Though at first, I didn’t learn about how to clean Camelbak water bottles that gave me a really tough time. Yet all the other features are fabulous and affable.

It is easy to handle and fits in every cage. It has an inner silica coating that fights odors and weird aftertaste.

Designed with a leak-free, self-sealing jet valve and a mud cap to keep trail debris away from the mouthpiece and out of your digestive tract, this 21-ounce bottle is ideal for long hikes.

The bottle is made of BPA-free TruTaste material, so water won’t have that weird plastic taste to it.

How to Clean Camelbak Podium Water Bottles?

  • Remove the bottle cap and make sure the Jet Valve is open so water can disperse as you wash it.
  • You can also pull off the silicone drinking nozzle to clean it separately—it will come off with a firm jerk, and it’s easy to clasp back on once you’re done.
  • Wash the cap and bottle with warm, soapy water and leave it to dry.
  • You should avoid using high heat settings such as “sanitary clean” or “heat boost” while washing your Podium bottle in the dishwasher since they might deform the plastic in your bottle.
  • Avoid forcing brushes or cleaning tools through the slits in the drinking nozzle; you could damage the cap.

Stainless Steel Water Bottles

For my daily routine of college and work, I prefer the Camelbak water bottles made up of stainless steel over plastic bottles.

Unlike plastic, steel will not break, and many attractive features are also available such as special caps, aesthetic colors, holding straps, spouts, handles, clips, and unique shapes.

  • Stir the mixture for 30 seconds, then set the pieces aside for about 15 minutes to soak in the liquid mixture. Rinse and shake dry.

Eddie Kids’ Bottles

While visiting the Camelbak website, I came across Eddie’s kids’ bottles. It caught my attention, and its features made me buy it for the birthday of my school-going nephew.

It was vacuum insulated, made up of stainless steel, was spill-resistant, and lightweight. Moreover, it was in beautiful colors and with a straw to drink water from.

It was BPA, BPS, odor, and stain-resistant. After reading all these, I couldn’t help myself buying it. Though I had used Eddie’s grown-up bottles for me yet, this was different, and so it’s a way of how to clean Camelbak Eddie kids’ bottles.

How to Clean Camelbak Eddie Kids’ Bottles

Here I am going to explain to you how I clean it daily for my nephew.

  • First, I opened the cap and pulled out the straw.
  • On the underside of the cap, I grab the pull tab on the bottom of the bite valve and pull it out in one motion.
  • After that, I clean the bottle and bite the valve with warm, soapy water.

For re-insert the bite valve into the cap:

  • Push the bite valve through the opening by turning the cap upside down and pushing it down.
  • Once the bite valve pokes through to the top of the bottle, you can pull it into place if you notice two little grooves on the side of the bite valve.

And one last thing that was mentioned in precautions was that do not put the eddy kids bottle in a microwave or bottle sterilizer to clean.

Camelbak Reservoir or Camelbak Hydration Bladder

how to clean Camelbak reservoir

After the two successful experiments with Camelbak products, I found myself eager to purchase Camelbak.

For my upcoming wondrous weekend bike trip, I bought a Camelbak reservoir for keeping myself hydrated all along the trip and with an extra stock of water.

How to Clean Camelbak Hydration Bladder?

The storekeeper guided me on how to clean the Camelbak reservoir before use, so here is how to do it:

  • Upon his instructions, I filled the reservoir with soapy water, shook it, and elevated it in such a way that the valve was below the reservoir.
  • I pinched the valve, so soapy water reached the drinking tube and then rinse it thoroughly to remove all the cleaning water, and in this way, my reservoir is ready for my next expedition.

If you want to protect yourself from any weariness, never leave any water in your reservoir. I repeat, never leave any water in there. Follow these steps of how to clean Camelbak reservoir:

  • I used hot water mixed with two tablespoons of baking soda or bleach.
  • Shook the solution inside the reservoir and held it up while pinching the bite valve, allowing the mixture to run through the tube.
  • You can also use CamelBak Cleaning Tabs.
  • Let the cleaning solution reside in a reservoir for about 30 minutes.
  • Wash the reservoir with hot water and made sure to rinse away any cleaning solution before using it again.
  • I also used brushes and scrubbed my reservoir and tube. (Brushes are the best way to ensure you are scrubbing all the areas of the reservoir clean).
  • Once the reservoir is clean, air-dry the reservoir so no moisture can remain trapped inside.
